Thanks so much for the opportunity to talk with you! Please tells us a little bit about your book.
Can Molly and Kyle make their marriage of convenience work, in order to save Kyle’s business? Or will the mistakes of the past continue to haunt them, and deprive them of the future together they both secretly crave?
How long did it take for you to write the book? Did you do have to do any research?
I wrote this book over a period of a few years, and the story published bears a marked difference to the original plot. I put it down and picked it up so many times, working on different stories in between, but Kyle and Molly remained a firm favourite with me, and I always came back to them. Luckily for me, as I’ve been to Florida a few times I have a reasonable feel of the area so I just dived back into my memory for any research.
For you, what’s the hardest thing about writing?
Shutting out the world and just doing it. There is always something else I think I should be doing. Once I get into it I’m fine, but it can be a struggle when the writing isn’t flowing and that’s when Facebook and Twitter seem so much more interesting.
I think most writers can relate to social media distractions! What do you love most about writing?
The sense of accomplishment when those very last words are on the page. When I write chapters that make people want to keep reading to reach a happy ever after about people grown from my imagination, it’s a great feeling.
If you were speaking to someone who hasn’t read your writing before, why should they want to read The Price to Be Paid?
It’s a story of intrigue, romance, loss and passion, but ultimately it illustrates the power of redemption and forgiveness, and how true love can heal even the most broken of hearts.
What are your interests outside of writing and reading?
I have two daughters and three grandchildren to keep me busy and an old X Box 360 that I enjoy playing games on. I don’t use it enough to justify buying anything newer, but it keeps me happy. I also love dabbling with Corel Paint Shop Pro and Video Studio, and I try to learn a new technique involving some aspect of them every month.
Are you working on a new project?
As you’re reading this, book two in the Upland Village Series will be on its way to finding a publisher. I’ve also one last final scene to be written, and then I’ll be polishing and revising a novella to hopefully also find a home.

Author bio:
Alice J Miller hails originally from London but now lives in Kent. She’s wanted to write since the age of twelve, but never took the idea seriously until a few years ago, when she decided it was time to test the theory it’s never too late to follow the dream.
Wife, mother and grandmother, she writes from the heart and loves indulging her imagination, following wherever it leads until the characters in her head become as familiar to her as family.
An avid Sci-fi fan, and in particularly Star Trek, if you look closely you’ll usually find a homage to a named Star Trek character in every book she writes.
A romantic at heart, she makes her characters struggle in love, but always ensures they eventually get their happy ever after.
