What sparked the idea for Finding Marnie?
Finding Marnie, is the highly anticipated fourth instalment of the Heartless Few series. Inspired by the previous books, it takes us back to the rock ‘n’ roll world of the Jones brothers, but now from a different point of view. “Quiet twin” Luke has preferred to live life in his larger-than-life brother’s shadow, but when Marnie, his life-long crush, finds herself at rock bottom he’s desperate to save her, even if it means defying Arlo. In this book we see this sexy rock god finally step into the light and become the man he was meant to be, proving to both himself and Marnie that they are worth fighting for.
For you, what’s the hardest thing about writing?
I’m lucky the hardest thing and easiest thing about writing for me are one and the same thing. The ‘problem’ I have is that I have so many ideas, and not enough time to execute them all. My brain is literally brim full of ideas, with new ones being added every day. If I could do away with the need to sleep, then perhaps I have a shot at ever capturing everything that’s in my mind. Until that day…not a chance! In the meantime, I’ll do my best to get as much of the good stuff out of my head and onto the page as I possible can.
What do you love most about it?
I love that writing allows me to express my creativity in the way that comes most naturally to me. I also love that I can share the ideas that are swimming with other people and that in turn, people respond positively what I do. I adore the degree of freedom I have to manage and influence my own career, and the flexibility that writing offers over other jobs. I especially appreciate that the research required for my books allows me to unleash my inner geek, delving into corners of the internet that I may not have otherwise found myself. I just hope that nobody pays too much attention to my browsing history, that’s all. It certainly gives a very colourful impression of interests!
For someone like me who is impatient with a fairly short attention span, another huge benefit of writing is that no two days are the same, and each book is a discrete project with a specific start and end point. Once it’s done, and it’s time to move on to the next fresh new shiny project. That’s my favourite way to work.
If you were speaking to someone who hasn’t read your writing before, why should they want to read Finding Marnie?
My stories have a little bit of kickass, and a whole lot of badass. If you like hot sexy alphas with heart, and sassy heroines with a sting in their tail, as well as an angst-ridden emotional rollercoaster ride to the eventual happy ever after, Finding Marnie (and the other books in my Heartless Few series) won’t disappoint.
What are you working on now?
I’m in the editing phases of the first book of a fresh new series, which is due out later this year. It has all the angst, sass and badassery (not a word, but I like it) of my previous books, but it introduces a whole new cast of characters to love (and sometimes hate). It’s also a departure from the rock star genre, taking place in a whole new setting to my previous books, though readers can expect the occasional cameo from characters from the Heartless Few. I do’t want to give to much away at this stage, but watch this space for further updates nearer to the release date in July.
Thank you so much for chatting with us, MV! Finding Marnie is available now.
Finding Marnie
Their love is a legacy of broken hearts and shattered dreams. Can they find each other without losing themselves?
He is everything I want but know I can never have.
Every fiber of my being has ached for Luke from the very first moment we met. However, with my parents’ legacy of toxic obsession woven into my DNA, I know love is pain and should be avoided at all costs. I’m unloved and unlovable. Still, in moments of weakness, I allow myself to imagine what it would be like if I was the kind of woman who deserved the love of a man like him.
She is hiding in plain sight, waiting for me to find her.
Marnie has had my heart from day one, and always will. It’s just a shame I couldn’t muster the words to tell her so when we first locked eyes. It’s a failing I will live to regret for years to come. However, I’m determined to make things right, even if it takes me a lifetime. I need her to know she is enough. In fact, she is more than that. She is everything.

Author bio:
MV ELLIS knows what it’s like to fall head over heels in love with a badass musician. She followed her heart halfway around the world to be with one. She moved from London to Sydney after a steamy holiday romance with a sexy bass player in sultry Brazil.
Fourteen years, two children and a dog later, and she’s still smitten. All this with a guy she sat next to on a bus for 36 hours! She has toured internationally as a ‘WAG’, and her experiences inspire her writing.
Ellis’ love of romance began when she was 11 years old, after a summer spent secretly reading her auntie’s books. She’s been a sucker for an alpha hero and strong heroine ever since.
An avid reader, Ellis always knew that she’d write a book of her own one day. She was right about that. Following a career spanning advertising, marketing, and social media, she finally wrote her debut novel, Catching London in 2017 and has since gone on to publish a further three novels, the latest of which, Finding Marnie is now available.
