How would you describe your latest book?
One man learns the truth about immortality— a truth that no living soul on earth can escape and one so big, history may have to be rewritten.
What sparked the idea for Immortal Descent?
My fascination with immortality led me to begin writing this story. I wanted to explore the great “what ifs” in our history.
How long did it take for you to write the book? Did you have to do any research?
It took me about a year to draft the whole novel. Then a few more months for edits. My story pulls from ancient lore, religion and history so I did a TON of research!
How did you celebrate when you learned Immortal Descent was going to be published?
I pretty much called everyone I knew and squealed over the phone!
If you were speaking to someone who hasn’t read your writing before, why should they want to read Immortal Descent?
If they seek a very well-written, deeply descriptive and original story, I would recommend IMMORTAL DESCENT. I also focus heavily on the backstories and struggles of my characters to get a clearer understanding of WHY they do what they do. I have that psychological element to the story that makes it a deeper and more meaningful read. I think readers seeking a new take on an old trope would enjoy my story a lot.
Are you working on another book? Looks like Immortal Descent is the start to a series.
I sure am! I am currently working on a couple of things. In the Immortal Series, I’m working on book 2 right now. I also have a women’s fiction story and a sci-fi thriller in the works as well.
What’s one piece of advice you would offer your younger writer self?
Don’t doubt yourself! I spent a lot of time doing that and wondering if I could succeed. Just doing is so much better than speculating!
